Sustainability-focused Gatherings
One of my passions is creating sustainability-focused and soul-centered gatherings and events. I have designed and organized farm-to-table dinners, bakery pop-ups, intimate weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, botanical dye parties, bridal showers (traditional and non-traditional), celebrations of life & more. I love putting together florals and greenery and doing custom botanical dye details. My design philosophy is circular in nature, so I’m focused on thoughtfully sourcing all materials so that they can eventually feed back into the system in some positive way. I’m always open to collaborating on projects or fully taking the reins. Contact me if you would like to create some magic together!
An Intimate California Redwood Grove Wedding
Gather
This sweet gathering happened during the Covid-19 pandemic so unfortunately we weren’t able to have the big celebration we were originally hoping for. However, it was still pure joy and magic. And it was certainly full of little personalized touches. We used found wood carved with the names of the couple’s favorite diving spots to help define the aisle. I hand-dyed a silk velvet ribbon with indigo for the bride’s bouquet and sourced and put together all of the florals and greenery from local farms and my own backyard. We also designed a logo for the couple’s day which was a tribute to their favorite local landscapes and the font, to their love of the ocean and surfing. The bride had it printed onto stickers at her Dad’s local shop which we used for the biodegradable dried flower confetti cones and mini sparkling wine bottles, sourced from a local winery. The dreamy ceremony took place in a redwood grove near the bride’s house that’s accessed through a beautiful apple orchard. Guests gathered, socially distanced, to view the exchange of vows. Guitar music was played by the groom’s Brother and Dad. After the ceremony, the guests all followed the couple back through the apple orchard and down the country lane to the bride’s parent’s front yard for a champagne toast, before the immediate families gathered for a tasty local dinner at sunset.
